Role Description
The Design Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering design support for a variety of EPC projects, from conceptual design to detailed design and implementation. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, safe, and cost-effective design solutions while ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of engineering solutions for EPC projects, ensuring designs are optimized for performance, cost, and constructability.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports for various project components, including mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural systems.
- Conduct design assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analyses to identify potential challenges and propose practical solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and construction teams to ensure that design deliverables are aligned with project timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
- Perform detailed design analysis and calculations to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Review and approve design documents, materials, and vendor submittals to ensure consistency with project requirements.
- Provide technical support during procurement and construction phases, offering clarification on design issues and assisting with problem-solving on-site.
- Coordinate design activities and communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and cohesive project execution.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project meetings to ensure the continuous improvement of the design process.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, design trends, and advancements in engineering technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering within an EPC environment, preferably in industrial, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit) and engineering design tools.
- In-depth knowledge of design codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISO).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative design solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple design tasks, ensuring deadlines and project milestones are met.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients.
Experience with 3D modeling, BIM (Building Information Modeling), or other advanced design technologies.
