Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer to join our team and lead procurement activities for large-scale EPC projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the successful execution of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of project requirements, supplier management, cost control, and the ability to work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement activities for EPC projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals, timelines, and budget requirements.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, contractors, and vendors, conducting rigorous market analysis to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality deliverables.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project specifications and company standards.
- Manage the preparation of procurement documentation, including RFQs, contracts, purchase orders, and other project-specific procurement deliverables.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely availability of materials and services.
- Monitor procurement progress and ensure all required items are delivered according to the project schedule.
- Resolve procurement-related issues, including delays, quality concerns, and disputes with suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in procurement processes, including the use of digital tools and systems for better efficiency and tracking.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement for EPC projects, with a focus on industrial or construction sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, supplier relationship management, and cost control.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Proven track record in negotiating complex contracts and managing large procurement portfolios.
- Experience with procurement software and project management tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
